British 35-year-old supermodel model Kate Moss has joined a musician association fuelling speculation that she is to embark on a new musical venture with boyfriend Jamie Hince.

The supermodel has joined the performing rights society and this move has hinted that she is preparing to team up with Hince on his new project, reports. 'Jamie is so used to hearing Kate Moss sing at home and in karaoke and he is tempted to give her singing a shot,' a source said.

A spokesperson from the performing rights society branded Kate Moss membership as a 'smart move'. 'Kate has co-written some songs with Pete Doherty and she will now be able to collect her share of the royalties. Both Pete Doherty and Jamie Hince are members.

Fashionistas nearly fell off their Louboutins when a designer sent "plus size" models down the catwalk to showcase his figure-hugging designs during London Fashion Week.

Although slightly less sensational than Sophie Dahl's rubenesque runway modeling debut in 1997, there was still a collective gasp as a size 14 model opened Mark Fast's show on Saturday.

The latest row comes hot on the heels of a warning from a group of top psychiatrists over dangerous websites which encourage young girls to starve themselves.

The deaths of several size zero runway modeling models led to the launch of an inquiry into models' health in 2007 - but no clear industry guidelines exist.

And Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman sparked the debate again in June this year by writing to British designers asking them to make bigger samples so they could use more realistic models in magazines.

It certainly seems not everyone is on the same page.

When Candian-born Fast decided to include size 12 and 14 girls it apparently prompted two of his team to walk out. You can find some galleries free of models in websites which includes all types of models.

The 28-year-old used models Hayley Morley, 21, Laural Catterall, 20, and Gwyneth Harrison, 25, from Guildford-based 12+ UK model agency.

"Mark Fast was one of the designers we asked to create a bespoke garment for that event to show that high-end designs could look beautiful on model girls you might not expect to see on the catwalk," Ms Ringwood told Sky News Online.

"He so enjoyed creating that garment for Hayley that he then included her in his show - in fact, she opened his show."

As Hayley strutted down the catwalk, Ms Ringwood said the room was filled with audible gasps. You can find some other beauties also.

"I think everyone is ready for this change. It's a small step in the right direction, I think we have shown people that it's possible."

Armani picks Kiwi model for runway show

Few models can claim to be hand-picked by Georgio Armani, but that's exactly what happened to one lucky Kiwi.

Emma Champtaloup, 20, was chosen from 200 models to walk the catwalk at the fashion powerhouse's show in Milan Fashion Week on Friday.

Champtaloup, who finished studying at Diocesan School in Auckland two years ago, has spent the last year jetting between shows in such glamorous locations as Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York.

Her mother, Fiona Champtaloup, said Armani's personal backing has been the biggest boost to Emma's career so far and she is "extremely excited" about her daughter's success.

"I got a call in the middle of the night and it was her yelling, 'guess what, guess what!' and she was just over the moon about it," Fiona said.

"She said Georgio Armani had hand-picked her and sat with her for half an hour while he looked through her books and talked to her about herself, before asking her to walk in his show."

"She said they got along really well and that he was a lovely man. It's amazing, I'm extremely excited for her."

Champtaloup is signed with Auckland-based modelling agency Red Eleven and has appeared at New Zealand Fashion Week and in several magazines. Manager Mandy Jacobsen said the Armani connection would boost her career - and her number of bookings.

"There are about 2000 models at Milan Fashion Week and about 200 that audition for Armani alone, so for her to get in is amazing," said Jacobsen.

"And then for Armani himself to grab her hand and show her the outfits she'll be wearing is incredible. I've never heard of that happening for other girls from over here.

"It's extremely hard work though and I think Emma was finding it hard to book jobs before this, but now it's going to open so many doors."

Emma's mother said her daughter would continue to live overseas and appear at Fashion Weeks around the world, possibly travelling to Paris and New York later this year. About 80 fashion houses are displaying collections during the Milan Fashion Week.

We simply can't look away from tragiumphant Isobella Jade, the bewitching ragamuffin who has been living out of a suitcase and working herself as a succesful 5'2" fashion models. FishbowlNY first discovered Isobella's genius when she pitched her memoir in an email written completely in the third person; her story focuses on her rise to vagrancy and was written entirely while in the Soho Apple Store, the office of choice for many an itinerant genius.

But it looks like Isobella's incessant self-marketing has done her some good: some publishers have reportedly contacted the wee vixen, and she'll be doing a series of readings — where else? — at some West Coast Apple stores.

But just for the record, yes I have done nude work before, but I am not a successful nude model...I am trying to be a successful "body parts model" and I have had my share of nude modeling with amatuer photographers, but these days it is about the ad campaign, the brand, the commercial, the paycheck. I have a college degree in Advertising and Marketing from New York Institute of Technology but after I touched the surface of modeling in college I chose to not claim to the suit stable world and instead run for the day to day grind of freelance modeling, finding my own work, becoming my own agent and giving up everything from my apartment to my clothing, to my stability for my dream and pursuits. This is something I am living today and I am still sleeping on friends couches and going on castings and I am living what I am writing about right this second. The book is based from the years 2001 when I am running in between my college classes to go on photoshoots with amatuer photographers for 100 bucks an hour to the year 2006, when I am living out of a suit case and pursuing modeling at a different level and marketing myself. It is about becoming a business women and the transformation I made from modeling for my ego and modeling for my sole income.

My most recent jobs this past month were a commercial for VH1, and it modeling for Teen Vogue and modeling for watch company EOS and White Mountain Shoes. I am a go-getter and this book was written at the Apple Store, but the book isn't about The Apple Store, only about 10 pages about the store... but the store has been a major factor for me to continue freelancing,since this past year and even today I do not have a computer or internet connection, it is kind of hard to have that when you don't have an apartment or electricity. But I have chosen this, I have a college degree, I have an education and another life out there with a stable paycheck if I wanted it. But I didn't throw out all of my clothing and live out of a suit case, and eat dollar menu at Wendy's and go to the Apple Store almost everyday for a year and half for nothing. The Apple Store has been a source for me to continue to do what I love and 90 percent of my resume has come from jobs I have obtained from research I have done on the Imac computers in the soho retail store. How do I write a computer in heels in a public place, for hours at a time? Well if I get a phone call for an audition or casting they sure of hell wont hire me in sneakers. What everything comes down to is: I am too emotionally effected by my pursuits to stop pursuing and my book is about just that.

UK : Exclusive Asian modeling agency gets under way

To cater to the growing needs of the Asian looking models, two Pakistani women have started all Asian modeling agency in London.

The 'Caramel Asian Model Management' is one stop shop for a fashion show as it provides everything from models, choreographer, hair and dress make-up artists, music, lighting to backstage technicians.

Sadia Naim (a model) and Hajira Ahmad (a fashion photographer) conceived this idea after watching a number of fashion shows in London having no Asian models in them.

The agency was launched in August with 14 models primarily getting work on Asian wedding shoes but since then it has grown in stature with 32 models in its kitty; these models are doing body part modeling for magazine shoots, commercials, music videos and one model even having a movie in her bag.

Naim and Ahmad admit that the reason why Asian models are not able to make an impact is their lack of height as the height of Asian girls is 178 cm, a minimum requirement by any modeling agency.

1. Move More Make it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your dog; chase your kids; toss balls with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves model girls is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute aerobic dance class or tai chi or kickboxing. But that's great when you're up to it. Meanwhile, move more. Thought for the day: Cha, Cha, Cha. 2. Cut Fat Avoid the obvious such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats (i.e. pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage). Avoid Excessive Drinking While recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two for men) can help protect against heart disease, more than that baby model can cause other health problems such as liver and kidney disease and cancer. There are millions of young, bright, attractive male and female model who want to get into modeling, only a small percentage find any success at it. Why is that? Simply because they don't possess all of the following key elements of a successful model.

Determination:
Many young actors, actresses and models fail to reach their potential simply because they don't have enough drive and desire to overcome the inevitable slumps and setbacks they encounter. They simply quit.

Professional Attitude:
Modeling is a business, pure and simple. It can be great fun, but professional modeling photographers, art directors, casting directors, and video graphers are in the business of creating images for a profit. Their time is money, and so is yours. Treat these professionals as you would expect to be treated when it comes to time. Don't waste their time by not being punctual or ready to work at the scheduled start time. The most beautiful model in the world will run out of work if she constantly wastes people's time by being late, (or not showing at all), or by not being prepared to work.

Networking Skills:
All good business people create networks of clients that are constantly growing. actors, actresses and models are no different. You need to find ways to reach potential clients and generate more work and more clients from referrals and other network techniques. Of the clients you work with, ask them for referrals to other opportunities for you. And if a client was referred to you, always let them know who referred them. The common networking rule of thumb is that for every satisfied client you have they, in turn, will tell 2-5 others about you, but for every dissatisfied client, 10 potential new clients will hear the bad news. Never burn your bridges with clients. You may not want to work with them any more, and that is fine, but never, never be rude or unprofessional. It only harms yourself. Always make it a goal to either work a number of times with a client or get referrals to others from them. Work makes work in this business.

Imagination:
Use your unique look and thoughts to create something that makes you special. There are a million pretty faces out there, but if you offer a unique look or attitude, you can create a demand for your casting services. Be creative when you put your portfolio together and use your best shots for your promotional materials. Collaborate with your photographers to come up with something really special that just screams who you are.

Persistence:
Successful actors, actresses and models are made, not born. They work at all aspects of what they do and they do not stop because of a few setbacks. They are determined to accomplish a goal and they are not easily stopped by petty excuses or fears of the unknown.

A Plan of Action:
Successful actors, actresses and models have a direction, a plan of action. They set goals for their portfolio, their resume, their network of potential clients and the part of the market they want to work in, and they plan a way to achieve those goals.
